A day later, the 23-year-old took to
, posting a longer tribute to her late uncle and added that she chose the particular photo because he looks “happy and healthy.”
“This will always be my favorite picture of my uncle Jeff.. Not only because he’s wearing an elf hat and an X factor shirt on Christmas Day a few years ago, but because he looks happy and healthy,” the singer captioned the pic. “We are so grateful you’re at peace now.. Take care of Uncle Billy and Papa while you’re up there. We love you and miss you already.. #RIP.”
This is the second time in just a few months that tragedy has struck Lovato and her family. In November, she posted a similar message on Instagram, along with a smiling black and white
