An unnamed Chinese team has reportedly submitted a £35million for Arnautovic, with West Ham believed to have rejected the offer.
Arnautovic has shone for West Ham since joining from Stoke in the summer of 2017, helping the Hammers stay in the Premier League last season.
But now he’s achieved that, brother Danijel – who also acts as his agent – believes the forward should leave the club.
West Ham were quick to respond to Danijel’s statement, denying their player wants to depart just moments after his brother had said he had.
They posted on Twitter: “Marko Arnautovic has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it. He is not for sale.”
Despite West Ham’s resilience, a move to China is a possibility for Arnautovic while it could open the door for Chelsea, who are chasing a striker to replace Alvaro Morata, a possibility closer to home. Manchester United have also held a long-term interest.
“West Ham bought Marko for peanuts. They paid £20m for him, which is nothing in the current market,” read Danijel’s statement, which he gave to talkSPORT.
“They bought him to keep them in the Premier League last season and he did that. He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players’ award.
“Now West Ham have a fantastic offer. It is close to double what they paid for him.
West Ham ace Marko Arnautovic has been the subject of a reported bid from China
West Ham swiftly responded to the comments from Marko Arnautovic’s agent
“He wants to go to a new market and challenge for titles. This is what he wants.
“It is his great desire that West Ham accept the offer from China.
“He knows the West Ham fans love him and he has a special connection with them, but things move on, this is the world of sport, and he hopes they can understand.
“Marko is professional and is preparing himself for the Arsenal game. He will give 100 per cent for West Ham. That is Marko. He will never change.
“Until he is no longer a West Ham player, he will give everything to the club. He hopes the fans can respect his wishes.”

Danijel’s statement will have come as a hammer-blow to West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini, who said earlier on Thursday that he is determined to keep Arnautovic.
Pellegrini said: “We know that we have in Marko a very good player so maybe a lot of clubs may want him to play for their team, but he’s a player of West Ham and at the moment we don’t have any news about him.
“Marko and the other players involved in the rumours have their heads here, they want to continue the way they’re playing.
“I’m sure things like that are parallel to performance and he’ll have his head in the game against Arsenal (Saturday 12.30pm).”
Pundit Paul Merson recently told Chelsea to make a move for Arnautovic, despite strong rumours linking them with a move for Bournemouth star Callum Wilson.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is determined to keep Marko Arnautovic
“Callum Wilson won’t stop Chelsea playing boring football – they need Marko Arnautovic,” Merson told the Daily Star.
“I’m not surprised Maurizio Sarri has demanded a striker this week because they need one badly and they could probably get Wilson from Bournemouth for £30m.
“He’s a willing runner and he would help them stretch the game. At the moment it’s all so slow and predictable and the whole game is being played in a 30-yard space.
“There is no movement at all and everyone just stays in their own position, so it’s easy for teams to stop and it could cost Chelsea a top-four finish.
“Wilson would help because he makes good runs and he’s scoring goals right now. Olivier Giroud is just a target man and he’s injured anyway.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Callum Wilson but should they go for Marko Arnautovic?
Marko Arnautovic scored as West Ham beat Birmingham in the FA Cup at the weekend
“As for Alvaro Morata, I honestly don’t know what he does. I don’t know what the Spaniard gives you – and Eden Hazard is just not a striker.
“But as much as Wilson would help, I don’t think he’s the answer. He’s a good stop-gap but he’s not going to guarantee you top four.
“West Ham’s star man Arnautovic might, though.
“He is a proven goalscorer and he gives you something different. He can make things happen and do something special.
“His agent has been making noises about him leaving as well and Chelsea could probably get him for £40m because of his age.”
