Rockstar Studios announced the launch of their upcoming game Red Dead Redemption 2  with a bang on Twitter yesterday afternoon. 

The open-world action game series is beloved by many gamers, taking players on a journey through the dangerous wild west of 19th century America. 

Fans have been waiting for the chance to play the new game, which is releasing more than 10 years after the first game in the series. 

Rockstar Studios is famous for the immensely popular GTA series, most recently of which was GTA 5, which sold 85 million copies worldwide.

When is the release date for Red Dead Redemption 2? 

A full 10 years after the first game, Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally being released. 

Rockstar Studios are well known for taking their time releasing games, but fans are desperate to get their hands on the latest game from the developers. 

The first Red Dead game released on Xbox and PlayStation consoles in May 2010, giving gamers a chance to step back in time to control a fear gang member, John Marston as he takes revenge on his former gang members. 

As with the first game, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018.

Rockstar Studios have been known to push back release dates to ensure their games are in the best condition for release, so don’t be surprised if that date changes. 

Rockstar Studios has revealed that there will be special editions of Red Dead Redemption 2 for those who pre-order the game. 

There are three types of game that will be available to buy, the Special Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Collector’s Edition, each with their own perks. 

Did new trailer reveal new gameplay?

Rockstar Games announced the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 with a new gameplay trailer.

The trailer revealed stunning graphics as John Marston was revealed in the deep mid-west.

Rockstar will be releasing several gameplay trailers in the weeks running up to release explaining more aspects of the game and how this will differ from the first game. 

This week’s trailer revealed aspects of the story, introducing Red Dead 2’s protagonist Arthur Morgan. This game will be set before Red Dead Redemption, but fans already got a glimpse of a young John Marston in the trailer, as players experience life before the famous van der Linde gang got their notoriety.

The next trailer to be released will explain more about gameplay mechanics, with the game’s Dead Eye system and shooting mechanics explained in more detail.
