Shakira strolls through a bodega with her pet pig on a leash and her wild mane of hair hidden under a pink wig in the video for her addictive new single “Chantaje.” The song, sung in Spanish, is about a chase – or, as always in Shakira’s case, a dance – between a lustful man and an unattainable woman. (“I’m not yours or anyone else’s,” she sings, in translation.)
In “Chantaje,” the former Voice coach sings and dances with fellow Colombian singer and reggaeton star Maluma. The bodega they start off in leads to a secret, swanky (albeit empty) dance club. Shakira swivels her hips from the top of the bar to the men’s bathroom, where she winds, kicks and grinds solo amid the urinals.
“Chantaje” debuted at Number One on the Hot Latin Songs chart for the week of November 19th, Billboard reports. The same week, it also cracked the Hot 100 at Number 96, which is new territory for the 22-year-old Maluma. The rising reggaeton star previously worked with Shakira on her remix of “La Bicicleta” released earlier in 2016.
Shakira recently won two 2016 Latin Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for the song “La Bicicleta,” from Carlos Vives’ forthcoming album Vives.
