For Tegan and Sara’s colorful “Stop Desire” video, their latest clip from Love You to Death, playful sexual innuendo seems to be found on every corner.
The Allister Ann-directed video opens with the sisters deadpan singing the punchy song’s lyrics, which deal in lust and the desire for it to be mutual. Their serious delivery heightens the playfulness of the rest of the video, which turns all manner of mundane routines, from stamp licking to doing laundry, into sexual overtures.
“We wanted to marry the high-energy and colorful vibe of ‘Stop Desire”s production with the longing sexual undertones of the song’s lyrics,” the duo explains in a Facebook post.
In a post office scene, The Late Late Show With James Corden bandleader Reggie Watts makes a hilarious appearance as a postal worker who contributes to the suggestive themes. Later, a grocery stand turns squeezing fruit and even tearing up bread into naughty endeavors.
Tegan and Sara previously unveiled that they will be making a video for each of Love You to Death‘s tracks. “White Knuckles,” “Faint of Heart,” “BWU,” “100x” and “Boyfriend” are among the videos they’ve already released for songs from the LP.
